AMES, Iowa - Iowa State head men's golf coach Jay Horton was one of 32 players named to the Sun Belt Conference's 30th anniversary golf team, announced by the Sun Belt Conference headquarters. Current PGA Tour member Heath Slocum headlines the 32-member men's golf team.
Horton, a native of Ames, Iowa, was a two-time all-Sun Belt performer as a member of the Alabama-Birmingham golf team from 1987-91. He won the Sun Belt Conference tournament as a senior in 1991. Horton is finishing up his seventh season as the head men's golf coach with Cyclones.
