ANN ARBOR, Mich. ? The Iowa State men's golf team shot a final round of 295 Sunday afternoon and placed ninth at the Wolverine Intercollegiate in Ann Arbor, Mich. Michigan took home the team title with a three-round total of 841 (282-275-284) and UC Davis' Ramie Sprinkling won medalist honors with a 206 total (69-68-69).
Junior Ben Herrera earned his first top-10 finish of the season after firing a 70, placing him in a tie for sixth. Herrera birdied four of his last eight holes, including three straight on holes 1, 2 and 3. Freshmen Nate McCoy, Thomas Lathrop, Michael Wuertz and sophomore Nathan Leary all shot third rounds of 75 for the Cyclones.
ISU continues its fall schedule next weekend, traveling to Nashville, Tenn., for the Mason Rudolph Invitational, Sept. 26-28.
