In order to give Cyclone fans an inside look at the Iowa State women's basketball team throughtout the season, head coach Bill Fennelly and members of the ISU team will be posting a weekly blog at cyclones.com on each Tuesday throughout the school year.
Fans will have a chance to hear directly from Coach Fennelly throughout the season about how practice is going, how the team is doing during the season, and what he sees as the staples of the ISU women's basketball program. Players will talk to you each week about their perspective of school life, practices, games, and the daily hurdles of being a Division I student-athlete.
Today freshman Ashley Arlen talks about her first season as a Cyclone and what it has been like to experience Division I basketball for the first time. Check back next week as senior Nicky Wieben chimes in from Columbia, Mo., and talks about her final chance to play at Hilton Coliseum.

Hello Cyclone Fans!
It's great to write to everyone again! It has been a while. Wow, it's crazy to think that I am already halfway done with my first year of college! It has gone by so fast already! It's been a long season and it has been great to play with the seniors and the rest of my teammates this year. We all will do our best to help them finish their senior year out on a great note!

Traveling is definetly one thing you have to get used to as a freshman! I do not like planes, and there have been some scary flights already this year! I've had to adjust to traveling during the week and missing classes. Missing school means that we have to be more organized and scheduled on when assignments are due and plan ahead for missed tests. When we are gone we usually have study table which is very helpful.
Thank you so much to everyone for your support and with only two home games left this year we hope to see everyone out at Hilton! Thanks again!
