Cyclone Club Tailgate of the Week: Kansas

AMES, Iowa – Each home football game, the Cyclone Club is featuring the “Cyclone Club Tailgate of the Week” to showcase what makes tailgating at Jack Trice Stadium so great, our loyal fans!

Prior to last week's game against Kansas, James and Sara Sparks of Huxley with about 40-50 of their closest friends graciously opened up their tailgate for cyclones.com.

The Sparks/VanSteenhuyse group prides themselves on being one of the first tailgates set-up each Saturday, typically located in the southeast corner of Lot B4 alongside tent row. Featured in this week's segment is their tailgate “beast”, a red and gold painted 1991 Toyota Previa used to transport their tents and equipment to Jack Trice Stadium.

Each week, Mr. and Mrs. Sparks enjoy hosting fans from the opposing team and in recent years, have merged their tailgate with a group of former marching band members, who have been known to bring along their instruments and play some live music for the group.
