AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State track and field team is split up among three sites for this weekend's competition. The largest group will be headed to Arkansas to take part in the Razorback Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Andrew Jordan is headed to Seattle to take part in the UW Invitational men's 3,000-meter run on Saturday, and Essence Henderson and Jhoanmy Luque will go to Iowa City to take part in the Black & Gold Premier on Saturday.
Razorback Invitational
A group of 27 ISU student-athletes will be competing at the Randal Tyson Track Complex this weekend. The competition boasts a strong field, with hosts Arkansas being joined by a group of its SEC counterparts which includes Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M, ISU's fellow Big 12 rivals Kansas State and Oklahoma State and Florida State and USC.
The Cyclone men have many exciting entries, with Jaymes Dennison and Roshon Roomes in the 800, Eric Fogltanz scheduled to make his return from injury in the 200 and newcomer Edwin Kurgat entered to make his ISU debut in the 3,000.
On the women's side, Jasmine Staebler is entered to make her season debut in a very strong 800 field which includes Texas &AM star Jazmine Fray. ISU has a big group entered in the 3,000, with Anne Frisbie and Amanda Vestri poised to lead the way.
Friday's running events will be streamed on SEC Network+ starting at 6 p.m., here. Saturday's track competition will be televised on SEC Network, starting at 1 p.m. and running until 4:30 p.m. Saturday's action can also be viewed on WatchESPN, here. Live results will be provided, here.
UW Invitational
Andrew Jordan heads up to Seattle and Dempsey Indoor to take part in the fast section of the men's 3,000-meter run. ISU's cross country All-American will be up against a talented field with runners from the professional ranks, Arkansas, Boise State, Cal, Portland and San Francisco among others. Jordan's heat of the men's 3,000 will go on Saturday at approx. 7 p.m. Central Time.

Black & Gold Premier
Two of ISU's top women's field student-athletes will be in Iowa City this weekend. For Jhoanmy Luque, she will be making her season debut in the triple jump. The Big 12 champ in the triple jump both indoors and outdoors, Luque kickstarted her 2017 with a strong performance at this very meet.
In the shot put, Essence Henderson showed the progress she has made last weekend in Iowa City, and will get another chance to on Saturday. The freshman recorded a best throw of 50-7 1/4 (15.42m), a personal best by two feet, and is now No. 7 in ISU history in the event.
