Cyclonitas Jump to Second on Day Two

NASSAU, Bahamas - The Cyclonitas jumped two spots on the leaderboard to take second place at the end of round two. Iowa State trails No. 37 Kentucky by three strokes.Â
Senior Liyana Durisic is leading the Cyclonitas after two rounds. Durisic remains tied for fifth with Mississippi State's Avery Weed and Kentucky's Jensen Castle. Durisic had three birdies on holes 11, 13 and 14 and tacked on another on hole six. Tess Blair jumped seven places on the leaderboard to tie for eighth with three birdies on the day. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn also made a large jump on the leaderboard going from a tie for 31st to a tie for 14th. Chul-Ak-Sorn shot a 72 improving her round score by four strokes.Â
Sophomore Pammy Chookaew is in a tie for 31st with three birdies on the day. Chookaew is followed closely behind by Keeley Marx. Marx had a six stroke improvement from round one and is tied for 35th with a two round score of 152.Â
The Cyclonitas had a two stroke improvement to surpass No. 46 North Texas. Iowa State had a second round score of 290, the third best score of the tournament.Â
The final round of the Nexus Collegiate Invitational will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00Â a.m. (CST) on Wednesday, Feb. 14.Â
