AMES, Iowa – Jamie Beyer's career at Iowa State stood out for many reasons. He was a seven-time All-American, and five-time Big 12 Champion during his time in Ames. His accomplishments will be recognized this September when he is inducted into the Iowa State Letterwinners Club Hall of Fame.
Beyer stood out in many ways. His seven All-America honors came in three different throwing events: the shot put, the discus and the weight throw. He was also accomplished in the classroom, earning Third Team Academic All-America honors in 2000.
After Iowa State, he went on to a successful pro career, finishing fourth in the shot put at the 2002 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
For our latest CyCast, Beyer took some time to talk about his time as a Cyclone with John Walters.
