AMES, Iowa - Iowa State junior guard Tim Barnes has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week. Barnes, a Henderson, Ky., native, notched career bests in points (16), field goals (8) and rebounds (7) in Iowa State's 76-55 win against Drake on Dec. 22. Barnes finished the day shooting 8-for-10 from the floor after making his first eight shots.
Barnes also dished eight assists in the contest while turning the ball over only one time. Barnes has amassed 60 assists (6.67 per game) and 23 turnovers this season for a ratio of 2.61, ranking among the best in Cyclone history.
