KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Iowa State senior center Tyray Pearson and sophomore guards Jake Sullivan and Shane Power were named to the 2001-02 Men's Basketball Coaches' All-Big 12 Team announced by the league office Wednesday.
Pearson, Iowa State's leading scorer (18.7 ppg) and rebounder (7.9 rpg), was named second-team all-Big 12 by the coaches. The senior from Hammond, Ind., was also a second-team all-Big 12 honoree by The Associated Press and a member of the Big 12's all-improved team.
Sullivan, a third-team selection by the coaches, averaged 16.4 ppg and led the Big 12 in three-point shooting this past season at 47.6 percent. He was named to the Big 12's all-underrated squad and was named honorable mention all-Big 12 by The Associated Press.
Power was recognized as an honorable mention pick by the coaches after averaging 13.9 ppg and 37.5 mpg for the Cyclones this past season. The Crown Point, Ind., native played 11 complete games and led Iowa State with 34 steals.
