Cyclone Volleyball Falls to Stephen F. Austin in Cyclone Classic

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team fell to Stephen F. Austin in the championship match of the Cyclone Classic on Saturday at Hilton Coliseum.
"I thought that Stephen F. Austin played very well," said head coach Christy Johnson. "They run a quick offense. We saw things that we need to work on and we have time before we face four very good teams next week."
Stephen F. Austin (5-1) hit .257 while holding the Cyclones to a .101 hitting percentage en route to a 3-0 (30-27, 30-16, 30-19) win. The tournament's Most Valuable Player, Stephanie Figgers, had 17 digs to lead the Ladyjacks to the win. Laura Cramer led Stephen F. Austin with 15 kills.
Iowa State was led by Laura Cady, who posted a career-high 16 digs in the loss. Katie Kruenegel and Katie Jessen had 10 kills to pace the Cyclones offensively.
Amanda Craig and Erin Boeve, who helped ISU to a 3-1 record this weekend, were named to the all-tournament team for their performance.
The Cyclones will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa for a non-conference matchup against Northern Iowa.
