Shirley is between stints in the NBA after playing the three seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns between 2002-05. The Meriden, Kan., native, is well-known for his often humorous blogs on ESPN.com while with the Phoenix Suns. Shirley is finishing up a book about his career in the NBA, entitled, Can I Keep My Jersey. The book will debut on April 24, 2007.
Shirley ranks fourth in career field goal percentage (55.4 percent) and was a member of ISU's two Big 12 Championship teams in 2000 and 2001. He was a second-team Academic All-American in 2001.
