AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State women's golf team travels across the country this weekend, playing in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown (Oct 27-29). Starting Monday, the Cyclones will join 17 teams in the three-round event at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev. Competitors will play 18 holes daily on the par-72, 6,265 yard course.
Iowa State will get the chance to tee-off against four other Big 12 teams this week in Missouri, Texas, Texas Tech, and No. 5 Oklahoma State. Other teams competing include: BYU, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Indiana, Long Beach State, Louisville, Minnesota, Pepperdine, TCU, UC-Davis, UNLV and Washington.

The Cyclones will bring along a team of five to Las Vegas. Players competing this weekend will be: Pennapa Pulsawath, Kristin Paulson, Victoria Stefansen, Rachel Reed and Laurence Herman.
Iowa State is coming off a ninth place finish last week at the Purdue Lady Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. Sophomore Rachel Reed played her best golf as a Cyclone, tying for 20th place by setting career lows in 18 holes (74) and 54 holes (234).
