Mansfield Leads ISU Academic All-Big 12 Honorees

AMES, Iowa ? Fullback Taylor Mansfield is one of five Iowa State football players named to the 2008 Big 12 Academic All-Conference team, the league announced Tuesday. Mansfield was named to the first team. The sophomore is a liberal studies major from Decorah.

Four Iowa State players were named to the academic all-conference second team. Michael O'Connell, a defensive back from Cedar Rapids, Iowa majoring in business, made the second team. Also selected to the second-team were freshman offensive lineman and pre-business major Kelechi Osemele, sophomore defensive back and finance major Zac Sandvig and junior wide receiver and pre-physical therapy major Joel Zitek.
