FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Iowa State's Lisa Koll's ninth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run highlighted competition for the Cyclones on Thursday at the 2009 NCAA Track and Field Championships.
Koll, who won the 10,000-meter crown at the 2008 NCAA Championships in Des Moines, led Thursday's race for the first 20 minutes before relinquishing the lead to West Virginia's Clara Grandt. Koll's time of 34 minutes 20.64 seconds was the Fort Dodge native's second-fastest time of the season. Iowa State's Grace Kemmey was 21st in the race.

Junior Cyclone Jenna Caffrey of Burlington had the 25th-fastest time overall in the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims (13.97) and did not advance to the final.
Former Des Moines Roosevelt prep Kiel Uhl finished 23rd for Iowa State in the men's 10,000-meter run with a time of 31:09.61.
