AMES, Iowa?Iowa State junior Charles Boozer is ready for an experience of a lifetime on Wednesday when the Cyclones take on nationally ranked Duke.
The Cyclone and his family moved to the Raleigh-Durham area when he was 12 years old to follow his brother, Carlos, who was a sophomore at Duke at the time. Carlos earned All-America honors and helped the Blue Devils win the 2001 NCAA Championship in his time at Duke from 2000-02. An All-Pro with the Utah Jazz, Carlos was a member of the United States' gold-medal winning basketball team at the 2008 Olympic Games
Charles lived every child's dream, tagging along at practice and horsing around with future NBA stars Jay Williams, Mike Dunleavy, Shane Battier and Chris Duhon.
His Duke roots run deep, but Charles is now a Cyclone and is ready to play against the program he grew up admiring. He insists his brother Carlos will switch allegiances on Wednesday as well.
