AMES, Iowa - The No. 33 Iowa State women's golf team recently ended the first half of the year with its best performance, tying for fifth at the Landfall Tradition, one of the season's best tournaments which featured 15 teams ranked in the nation's top 50.

Christie Martens has set the bar extremely high for Cyclone women's golf. The team has emerged as a Midwestern power and is poised to make their third-straight NCAA Regional appearance.
The Cyclones ended fall play with sophomore
Prima Thammaraks leading the way. Thammaraks showed strength and consistency by recording a team-high 74.93 stroke average and tallying two top-10 performances. Thammaraks tied for seventh at the Windy City Collegiate Classic and tied for sixth (222) at the Lady Northern Intercollegiate. The sophomore ended the fall campaign ranked 91st nationally by Golfstat and 95
th in the nation by Golfweek.
Senior
Kristin Paulson posted her best career finish at the Lady Northern Invitational, placing fourth with a score of 222. The team's lone senior led the Cyclones to a fourth place finish at that tournament. Paulson was second on the team in stroke average (75.40) and her 108 career rounds are tied for 10
th all-time in school history.
The Cyclones were also aided in the fall by sophomore
Sasikarn On-iam and freshman
Chonlada Chayanun, who both registered top-10 performances. On-iam recorded a 76.33 fall stroke average and capped off the season with a ninth-place performance at the Landfall Tradition. Chayanun led the Cyclones in their first two tournaments, including at top-10 performance in her debut at the Dale McNamara Invite.
