"Travis has been instrumental in the recruiting and development of our distance runners including NCAA champion Lisa Koll, All-American Dani Stack and the emergence of freshman All-American Edward Kemboi," Ihmels said.
Hartke will continue to serve as meet director at Iowa State's home track and cross country meets. He is the director of the Cyclones Wilderness Cross Country Camp.
"Because of coach Hartke's hard work and dedication we also have experienced continued excellence in hosting some of the best indoor meets in the country," Ihmels said.
