AMES, Iowa – In their second match of the spring season, the Cyclones head to Lincoln, Neb. to face rival Nebraska.
Iowa State is 1-0 this spring after rallying from a two-set deficit to defeat Creighton, 3-2, on March 28. The Cyclones also won their last meeting with the Huskers, a 3-1 victory over the then-No. 1 team in the nation, in September.
Neither team will look the same this weekend, although more familiar faces return for the Cyclones than the Huskers, who lost their four biggest contributors from the 2012 squad. In addition to its eight underclassmen on the spring roster, Nebraska has added senior transfer Kelsey Robinson, who posted 29 kills and 14 digs in Iowa State's loss to No. 15 Tennessee last season.
Cyclone seniors Tenisha Matlock and Kristen Hahn led Iowa State in its win over the Huskers in 2012, racking up 13 kills and 26 digs, respectively. Sophomore right side Mackenzie Bigbee had 10 kills in the contest and Caitlin Nolan added 14 digs to the Cyclones' effort.
Saturday's match will begin at 6 p.m. CDT at the Nebraska Coliseum. Tickets are available for purchase at huskers.com and at the Nebraska Athletics Ticket Office.
