AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State men's basketball team continues to make history, earning a school-record fifth-consecutive berth in the NCAA Tournament.
The Cyclones (21-11, 10-8 Big 12) battled their way through the nation's toughest conference to earn the No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region and will face No. 13 seed Iona (22-10, 16-4 MAAC) Thursday, March 17 in Denver, Colorado. The game will tipoff at 1 p.m. (CDT)/Noon (MDT) and be televised by TBS.
The winner of the Iowa State-Iona game will play the winner of the Purdue-Little Rock game on Saturday, March 19.
This is the 18th NCAA Tournament appearance for Iowa State and the first under first-year head coach Steve Prohm. With five consecutive appearances, ISU is one of just 10 schools to make the tourney from 2012-16.
The Iowa State men's basketball team will be playing Iona on Thursday, March 17 in the 1st round of the 2016 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship at the Pepsi Center. The winner of the Iowa State- Iona game will play the winner of the Purdue (No. 5 seed) vs. Little Rock (No. 12 seed) game on Saturday, March 19.
The NCAA allocates only 450 tickets to each participating institution for the preliminary rounds of the tournament. Iowa State's NCAA ticket allotment for the preliminary rounds will be allocated as follows:
• Cyclone Club Members (265 Tickets)
• Iowa State Students (55 tickets)
• Participating Student-Athlete's Family/Guests (54 tickets)
• Coaches' Family and Administrative Travel Party (76 tickets)
UPDATED TICKET ORDERING INFO: Because of the extremely limited availability and proximity of location (Denver) for 1st/2nd round games, only DIRECTORS (4 tickets maximum) and VICTORY (2 tickets maximum) level Cyclone Club members who are also men's basketball season ticket holders may request tickets.
The tickets requested must be for the account holder only (no “third party” will-calls). All tickets are based on availability and will be allocated according to your 2015 Cyclone Club giving level and then by priority points within the respective level.
Ticket orders for Directors and Victory Level donors should be placed on Monday, March 14 between 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. either in person at the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office or by phone at 888-478-2925, locally at (515) 294-1816. Ticket holders will be notified by 2:30 p.m. if their request cannot be fulfilled.
If tickets remain after 2:30 p.m. on March 14, they will be offered to CAPTAINS level Cyclone Club members who are also men's basketball season ticketholders. The limit will be two (2) tickets per account. All ticket orders are based on availability.
Tickets cost $100 or $66 for each session depending on seat location, but Iowa State fans will be charged only for the sessions that the Cyclones participate in. Fans that purchase first-round tickets will automatically be charged for the second-round game only if the Cyclones advance. If Iowa State does not advance, fans will not be charged nor will tickets be available for the second-round.
All tickets must be picked up at the Pepsi Center (by purchaser only - photo ID is required) on Thursday, March 17 at the Iowa State “Will Call”, located at the Pepsi Center box office and will call lobby located between 9th and 11th Streets on Chopper Circle, adjacent to the Altitude Authentics retail store. Access is through the doors located on the south side of the arena. If Iowa State advances to the second-round, ticket pick-up will be at the same location on Saturday, March 19.
