"Iowa State University student-athletes are excelling academically and tonight was a chance for our administration, coaches and support staff, to honor and celebrate their hard work and dedication in the classroom," Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development said. "It is also an opportunity for us to recognize our student-athletes that go above and beyond serving the ISU and Ames community. In 2014-2015, ISU student-athletes participated in close to 900 hours of service which led to an economic impact of close to $20,000. Academic success and community service are crucial components of what it means to be a Cyclone student-athlete and the Office of Student-Athlete Development, in partnership with coaches and administration, will continue to work hard to empower our student-athletes to compete in all areas of their life; academically, athletically and socially."
The football team and wrestling team earned Cyclone Serve awards for total community service hours accumulated. The men's golf and women's cross country teams had the highest team GPAs.
