AMES, Iowa – The No. 26 Iowa State women's cross country team is set for action at the Hawkeye Invitational on Friday night. The Cyclone runners won the event in 2015. The women's race will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the men's race at 6:45 p.m.
Andrea Grove-McDonough's team is coming off of their fifth Big 12 Championship in six seasons. The Cyclones return Anne Frisbie, Bethanie Brown, Kelly Naumann, Abby Caldwell, Evelyne Guay and Megan Schott from that team.
The Cyclones begin the season tabbed No. 26 nationally by USTFCCCA. The poll was released earlier this week. ISU is No. 4 in the Midwest region, as well.
The Hawkeye Invitational marks the beginning of the 2017 cross country season. The Cyclones will also compete at the Roy Griak Invitational and the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational before turning their gaze toward another successful postseason run.
