AMES, Iowa – Iowa State softball signee Kasey Simpson has been named a FloSoftball First Team All-American after a stellar senior season at Keller High School in Keller, Texas. Simpson, who was signed by first-year ISU head coach Jamie Pinkerton, is ranked as the No. 33 prep softball player nationally by Flo.
Simpson, an infielder, hit .429 with 53 RBIs, eight home runs, 15 doubles and eight triples during the 2018 campaign. Her 53 RBIs tied a single-season program record, and she leaves Keller as the school's career leader in home runs (27), RBIs (169), doubles (53), triples (23) and runs (166).
The future Cyclone also has a winning track record, leading Keller to a pair of Class 6A state championships and four regional final appearances during her prep career. Simpson, who will be a freshman at Iowa State during the 2018-19 season, was named the co-MVP in District 3-6A this season.
