CARY, N.C. - Iowa State senior Thasaporn Naklo earned her 100th career victory Monday at the ITA All-American Championships.
In her only singles match of the day, Naklo defeated No. 75Â Mila Saric out of Florida State with a score of 6-1, 7-5 to reach the milestone victory. She will face Camille Kiss from the UC Santa Barbara in the round of 32 Tuesday.
Ange Oby Kajuru also had her first singles match of the tournament in the round of 64 in the qualifying draw. Kajuru battled No. 15 ranked Abigail Forbes from North Carolina, but dropped the match, 7-6(0), 7-5.
Kajuru enters the consolation bracket where she will face No. 89 Kristina Novak from Oklahoma State University in her next singles match.
Naklo also picked up career win No. 101 and No. 102 after her and teammate Chie Kezuka went 2-0 in doubles play on the day. In their opening match of doubles action, they took down Daria Frayman and Grace Joyce of Princeton with an 8-4 victory. Then, in the round of 32 they beat Colorado State's Emily Dush and Sarka Richterova, 8-7.
After today's wins, Naklo has a career collegiate record of 102-65, tying her for 13th in program history.
Miska Kadleckova and Kajuru also picked up a pair of wins in doubles action. The pair came out on top in their first doubles match against Jackie Nylander and Hadley Doyle from Southern Methodist University, 8-1. The Iowa State duo then went head-to-head with UC Santa Barbara's Filippa Bruu-Syversen and Amelia Honer and came out on top with an 8-4 victory.
