Ward to Play in NBA Summer League with Kings

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Recent Iowa State graduate Hason Ward has signed on to play with the Sacramento Kings in a pair of upcoming NBA Summer Leagues. The Kings will play in the California Classic Summer League July 6-10 in Sacramento and San Francisco before playing in the NBA2k25 Summer League July 12-22 in Las Vegas. In two years with the Cyclones in Ames, Ward helped the Cyclones to a pair of NCAA Tournaments, including a trip to the Sweet 16 this past season. This past season, Ward appeared in 28 games and started the first three games of the year before suffering a foot injury that forced him to miss nine non-conference games. He averaged 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists this season.

In 51 career games at Iowa State, Ward averaged 4.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, while blocking 43 shots and tallying 45 steals. He recorded a season-high 13 points against No. 1 Houston in Iowa State's 69-41 victory over the Cougars in the Big 12 Championship game. He tallied seven rebounds at No. 11 Oklahoma and blocked a season-high five shots at Kansas State. In the six games Ward scored in double figures, the Cyclones went 5-1 in those games.

Over his 130 career games played at Iowa State and VCU, Ward averaged 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds, while blocking 162 shots and grabbing 92 steals.
