AMES, Iowa – Iowa State dominated its exhibition contest against Wisconsin-La Crosse Sunday at Hilton Coliseum, defeating the Eagles 93-50. The Cyclones took the lead 10 seconds into the contest and never relinquished it.
ISU had four players in double figures, led by Bridget Carleton's 17 points, while she was joined in double figures by Adriana Camber (15), Bride Kennedy-Hopoate (14) and Kristin Scott (10). Scott finished with a doulbe-double, recording a game-high 10 rebounds.
How It Happened
The Cyclones got the first six points of the game, and would not concede the lead through the entirety of the contest. ISU was able to force some turnovers, forcing UW-La Crosse into seven first quarter turnovers, which was converted into six fast-break points for the period.
ISU was an efficient 19-of-35 shooting in the first half, at 54.3 percent from the field which included 14-of-20 shooting inside the arc. Bridget Carleton led the ISU effort with nine points, while Bride Kennedy-Hopoate and Kristin Scott marked their Hilton Coliseum debuts with eight first-half points each.
The Iowa State lead would get up to as many as 43 points throughout the contest. All of Iowa State's players got on the scoreboard, with four finishing the game in double figures.
Players of Note
Bridget Carleton led the Iowa State effort with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while also grabbing three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Kristin Scott was impressive in her first game at Hilton Coliseum. The freshman from Kasson, Minnesota recorded 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds and recording a team-best three blocked shots.
Bride Kennedy-Hopoate showed a variety of skills in her 19 minutes of action. The Aussie finished with 14 points and nine rebounds.
