Set One: Iowa State 25 Virginia 18
The Cyclones broke open the set halfway through with an 8-2 run which took an 8-6 Cavalier lead into a 15-10 ISU advantage. Though the Iowa State attack was held to just seven kills and a .040 hitting percentage, the home team defense posted 4.0 total blocks and kept UVA to a -.030 hitting clip. ISU got up 1-0 when Sarah Billiard's shot sailed wide at 25-18 ISU.
Set Two: Virginia 26 Iowa State 24
The Cavs got ahead with a 4-1 run that took away the lead from ISU and gave it to UVA at 12-10. The Cylones chipped their way back in and tied it at 15-15 with a Grace Lazard kill. UVA went on a 5-1 run to move ahead 20-16 and got to set point at 24-22 on an Izzy Enna service error. ISU held off the two set points to knot it at 24-24, but UVA got the final two points with setter Jennifer Wineholt dumping over to give the visitors the set 26-24.
Set Three: Iowa State 25 Virginia 12
There was no hangover for ISU, as Hali Hillegas served an ace to give the Cyclones the first five points of the frame. The Cyclone libero's second trip behind the service line put the set out of the Cavs' reach as she ran off six in a row to extend the advantage to 18-9. ISU hit .500 as a team in the frame with Eleanor Holthaus and Lazard posting four kills each. Avery Rhodes put away a UVA overpass to give ISU the third 25-12.
Set Four: Iowa State 25 Virginia 19
Virginia did well to hold off ISU for a little bit, racking up three-point leads on multiple occasions. However, the Cyclone defense eventually rose to the occasion, with the block standing out to help ISU knot the set back up at 16-16 and 18-18 before a Rhodes and Holthaus block pushed the home team ahead 19-18. That was all ISU needed as Brooke Andersen served out the match with her third and fourth aces of the night, including the match point at 25-19 ISU.
