OKLAHOMA CITY - The Iowa State softball team fell to No. 25 Texas A&M, 4-0 in the first round of the Big 12 Softball Tournament at Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Aggies jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Tiffany Easters hit a home run to left center.
A home run by Selena Collins put A&M up 2-0 after the fourth inning.
Texas A&M expanded the lead scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Holle Hayden singled to left field and scored on a double by Kelly Ferguson. An RBI single by Lindsay Wilhelmson scored pinch runner Lauren Ripple to give the Aggies a 4-0 lead.
Sophomore Jen Bice (9-16) recorded the loss for the Cyclones, allowing four runs on seven hits, fanning seven in six innings. Senior Kimi Yoshizawa had one hit for Iowa State.
The Cyclones ended the season with a 14-27 overall record and a 2-11 Big 12 mark. Iowa State will lose seniors Kristin Ferguson, Sara Kinney and Kimi Yoshizawa.
