Iowa State had four players in double-digit kill totals and four double-figures in digs, but it wasn't enough as Bowling Green State defeated Iowa State, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Bowling Green State Tournament in Bowling Green, Ohio. Senior Renae Pruess led the way for the Cyclones with 16 kills and 10 digs. ISU ended the tournament with a 2-1 record and fall to 8-3 overall. Taylor Twite led the way for the Falcons with 21 kills.
Freshman Katie Jessen had her first career double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, while sophomore Katie Kruenegel and Ashlie McWee had 10 kills each.
In the first game, Bowling Green State jumped out to a 13-7 lead before the Cyclones rallied and came as close as 17-15, before Bowling Green State had a kill and capitalized on a couple of ISU errors to capture game one, 30-24. ISU had 10 kills and hit .094 from the floor compared to BGSU's 16 kills and .116 hitting from the floor.
