AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Stacy Stephens scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help No. 3 Texas beat Iowa State 67-45 on Saturday night.
Kala Bowers had 14 points and nine rebounds for Texas after going scoreless in a 78-64 loss at Baylor earlier in the week.
Tiffany Jackson added 12 points and nine boards for the Longhorns, who outrebounded Iowa State 49-20.
Texas (15-2, 3-1 Big 12) extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 28 games. The Longhorns also avoided their first consecutive losses since a four-game skid in February 2002.
Anne O'Neil scored 14 points to lead Iowa State (8-6, 1-2), which couldn't follow up on Wednesday's 64-63 upset of No. 2 Texas Tech.
Texas shot just 41 percent but held the Cyclones to 33 percent shooting, including a 5-of-23 effort in the first half. The Longhorns took a 30-16 lead into halftime.
Iowa State opened the second half with a 13-4 run that cut the lead to 34-29 on Mary Fox's 3-pointer. But Stephens hit a layup, Jamie Carey, Jackson and Nina Norman converted seven free throws and the lead was back up to 43-30.
Iowa State's last chance to make a game of it came when Erica Junod hit a 3-pointer that cut Texas' lead to 10 with 10:51 left, and then Lyndsey Medders stole an errant Texas pass.
Medders streaked down court and pulled up short under the basket as Carey ran by, but missed the wide-open layup. The Cyclones botched the rebound when Medders and Junod bumped into each other and knocked the ball out of bounds.
Texas then went on an 8-3 run that stretched the lead to 51-36 and Iowa State never got closer than 13 points again.
