Freshman place-kicker Bret Culbertson connected on his first career field goal attempt.
Culbertson's two field goals (22, 34) today are the most for a Cyclone kicker in a game since Adam Benike made three field goals on Sept. 27, 2003, at Northern Illinois.
Brent Curvey's 30-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown is his second fumble recovery for touchdown in as many weeks. It is also his second touchdown of the season on fumble recoveries which is a school record. Stevie Hicks' six-yard carry on the second play of the game put him at 1,000 rushing yards for his career.
Stevie Hicks' 110 rushing yards today is the fourth time in his career that he has gained 100 rushing yards in a game or more. Hicks now has 631 rushing yards this season.
Stevie Hicks' 30 carries today are a career-high. His previous high was 29 carries for 108 rushing yards at Colorado.
