AMES, Iowa--The
The Griak Invitational will be the Cyclones' third meet of the season, but women's head coach Dick Lee knows it will be more challenging than the previous two meets for most of the runners.
“For our young girls this will be their first big meet,” Lee said. “In high school most races are either a 4K or a 5K and this weekend they will run a 6K. It will be a big adjustment, but one we've been training for.”
After taking first at the ISU Open on Sept. 9, Lisa Koll will be running for the Cyclones and looking for the top spot once again. Lee projects that freshman Kelsey Bulat will also have another strong race.
“We're looking to have a top 20 finish,” Lee said. “It would be a great improvement from last year and with this young of a group it would be a good finish.”
The Griak Invitational is set to begin with the men's race at 11:20 a.m. with the women's race to follow at 12:20 p.m. Recaps and results of both the men's and women's races can be found at the conclusion of the meet at www.cyclones.com.
