AUSTIN, Texas? An opening goal by junior forward Amanda Nimtz at the 18:52 mark was not enough for the Iowa State soccer team to get past eighth-ranked Texas Sunday as the Longhorns rallied to win, 2-1.
An Allen, Texas, native, Nimtz gave the Cyclones (4-7-1, 0-3-1) the 1-0 lead off an assist from senior midfielder Leslie Hill, for her team-high fourth goal of the year. Nimtz dribbled to the six-yard area before slotting a shot into the left corner of the net. Nimtz would go on to lead ISU with two shots, both on frame. Hill's assist gives her four for the year, second highest for the Cyclones.
