AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's golf team placed four of its members on the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Academic All-Scholar team. Laurence Herman was named for the fourth consecutive time and junior Kristin Paulson was named for the third time. The freshman duo of Sasikarn On-iam and Prima Thammaraks were also tabbed for the honor.
All honorees must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in at least 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Herman was an All-Big 12 selection and a First-Team Academic All-Big 12. She ranks third in school history with a career stroke average of 76.88 and also recorded five top-10 and three top-five finishes this year.
Paulson was a First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection and notched a 10th place finish at the Lady Northern, which was her first top 10 finish of her career.
On-iam, a native of Bangkok, Thailand, was an All-Big 12 selection and finished the season ranked in the top-100 nationally. She led the team with a 74.66 stroke average, which broke Iowa State's single-season and freshman stroke average marks.
Thammaraks was the Cyclones' third All-Big 12 selection and was also third on the team in stroke average at 75.00. Her stroke average is the second best for a freshman in school history, trailing only On-iam in that category.
