Cyclones Fifth At Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas - The Iowa State men's golf team sits in fifth place out of 24 teams after two rounds at the Border Olympics. The Cyclones carded rounds of 296 and 305 for a 601 total, 19 shots off of first-place Lamar (141).

Scott Fernandez led Iowa State after carding rounds of 69 and 74 (143) to sit in a tie for third place. Fernandez is two shots off the individual leader M.J. Daffue of Lamar at 141. Sam Daley is in a tie for 23rd place, shooting rounds of 75 and 74 (149). Nate McCoy is currently tied for 26th (150).

The Cyclones will complete the final 18 holes tomorrow morning.
