WILMETTE, Ill.- The Iowa State women's golf team is in seventh place after 36 holes at the Windy City Collegiate. The Cyclones carded rounds of 297-298 for a two-round 595 total. USC, the seventh ranked team in the nation according to Golfweek, is the leader after the first two rounds at 581 (294-287).
Freshman Nattapan Siritrai stepped up for the Cyclones, firing back-to-back 72s (144) today to put her in a tie for sixth. Junior Cajsa Persson shot a 75 and a 73 (148) to sit in a tie for 18th. Tulane's Emily Penttila is leading the medalist race at 7-under (137) after eclipsing the women's course record with a 66 in the second round.
Iowa State senior Chonlada Chayanun is tied for 32nd at 151.
The Windy City Collegiate concludes with 18 holes tomorrow.
