Cyclones Receive Their Letter Jackets At Ceremony

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Letterwinners Club honored spring sport student-athletes and managers by awarding them an "I" and the accompanying Cardinal and Gold letter jacket last night. The ceremony took place at the Alumni Center, where 52 student-athletes and managers were welcomed into the Letterwinners Club.
"Being a letterwinner allows these students to build a sense of family," said Lindsey Long, Director of Special Events and Letterwinners Club at Iowa State. "It gives them a greater appreciation for the tradition that they are now a part of."
Student-athletes and managers in men's basketball, men's golf, men's track and field, wrestling, women's basketball, gymnastics, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and women's track and field were presented their jackets by Letterwinners Club president Craig Rover and their respective coaches.
"It feels good to finally put on my letter jacket," said point guard Monté Morris. "After seeing the guys before me get them last year I couldn't wait. I'm at a loss for words at this moment and I'm happy to be a Cyclone."
