AMES, Iowa – As the No. 18 Iowa State wrestling team gets a much needed break heading into the Midlands Championships, head coach Kevin Jackson can rest easy knowing that the future of his program has been solidified.
In the first half of the season, Jackson, along with assistant coaches Travis Paulson, Trent Paulson and Angel Escobedo, locked up what will be one of the nation's top recruiting classes. They penned five future Cyclones, each ranked nationally in the top-100.
Between the five prep-stars, they boast 15 Fargo All-American honors, seven top-8 finishes at UWW/FILA Junior Nationals and six state titles. One signee, Kanen Storr, wrestled for coach Travis Paulson on the United States Cadet Freestyle team this summer at the Pan American Games where he finished runner-up at 63kg.
