- Iowa State won the Big 12 Championship title for the second consecutive season, beating Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. ISU became known for its comebacks, winning five straight, including all three in the Big 12 Tournament, after trailing by double figures.
- The Cyclones advanced to their fourth-straight NCAA Tournament, a school record. Iowa State and Kansas are the only Big 12 schools to make the tournament in each of the last four years. ISU's 25 wins tied for the third-most in school history. The Cyclones have notched 25+ wins in consecutive seasons for the second time in school history.
- The Cyclones' 115 wins under Hoiberg are the most in a five-year period in school history.
- The Cyclones were ranked No. 9 in the final AP poll, their school-record 37th consecutive week in the top-25.
- Georges Niang was an All-Big 12 first team pick, with Monté Morris and Jameel McKay earning second and third-team honors, respectively. Dustin Hogue was an honorable mention selection. McKay was named the league's defensive player of the year and also earned a spot on the all-newcomer team and all-defensive team.
- Niang and Morris led the Cyclones at the Big 12 Tournament. Niang earned most outstanding player honors and Morris was on the all-tournament team.
- Niang earned NABC and Associated Press All-America Third-Team honors, becoming the fourth Cyclone under Hoiberg to earn the honors. Iowa State is one of five teams (Duke, Gonzaga, Syracuse, Kentucky) to have multiple different All-Americans in the last two seasons.
- Iowa State led the Big 12 in scoring for the third season in a row with 77.8 points per game. ISU had five players average double figures points for the first time in school history. The Cyclones also led the Big 12 in field goal percentage (47.6 percent) for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.
- McKay became eligible for the Cyclones in December and posted one of the top shot-blocking seasons in school history. McKay swatted away 59 opponent shots (2.36 bpg) in 25 games, which was the fifth most in a single season in ISU history. The 2.36 blocks per game was the third-most at ISU, trailing only Kelvin Cato.
- Niang (15.3) leads ISU and was third among Big 12 players in scoring. Niang has ranked among the top 15 in the league in scoring in each of his three seasons at ISU. This season, Niang averaged a career-best 5.4 rebounds per game to go along with 3.4 assists per game. Only 14 players nationally averaged 15-5-3, including just four in power conferences.

He dished out 176 assists and just 38 turnovers. Morris also proved himself as a capable defender with 64 steals. In his first two seasons in Ames, Morris had 110 steals.
- For the second consecutive season, Morris led the nation with a 4.63 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Cyclones have now had a player lead the nation in a statistical category for three-straight years (Tyrus McGee, 46.4 3FG%, 2013).
