MADISON, Wisc. – The No. 18 Iowa State women's cross country team raced to a 13th-place finish at the 2017 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
The Cyclones were once again paced by freshman Cailie Logue. Logue posted a 6K time of 20:22 to finish 30th overall. Close behind her was All-Big 12 junior, Anne Frisbie, crossing the finish line in 20:29 for a 36th-place individual finish.
Freshmen Amanda Vestri and Karly Ackley, along with junior Kelly Naumann rounded out the scoring Cyclones. Vestri clocked a 21:06 time to finish 89th, while Naumann finished just a second off her pace (21:07) to finish 90th. Ackley posted a 21:40 time, resulting in a 145th-place finish.
Sophomore Megan Schott (21:57 – 169th) and junior Evelyne Guay (22:05 – 178th) also competed in the varsity race for the Cyclones.
Iowa State had four athletes run in the "B Race" earlier in the morning. Jasmine Staebler finished 37th with a time of 22:07, Larkin Chapman took 51st at 22:18, Erinn Stenman-Fahey 70th with a time of 22:45 and Grace Gibbons 87th at 23:26.
The Cyclones will get a two-week rest before beginning their post season campaign at the Big 12 Championships. The conference championships are set for Saturday, Oct. 28th at 10 a.m. in Round Rock Texas.
