AMES, Iowa – David Archer is one of the greatest quarterbacks in Iowa State history. A native of Soda Springs, Idaho, Archer broke nearly every passing record during his two-year Cyclone career (1982-83).
Archer went onto a prolific professional career, throwing for over 20,000 yards in the NFL, WFAL and CFL. He started 23 games at QB in the NFL, the most by any Cyclone in school history.
Archer was recently back in Ames as an honorary captain for the spring game. He talked about his Cyclone and NFL career, as well as his current job as the Atlanta Falcons radio color analyst in our latest CyCast.
