Iowa State Returns to the Mat at University Nationals

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State wrestling team will compete in its first tournament under Kevin Dresser and his new coaching staff. The Cyclones are set for action in Akron, Ohio at the UWW Cadet and University Nationals on June 1-4.
Athletes who are currently on a collegiate wrestling roster working toward a diploma, or graduated in the preceding year are eligible for competition at the annual collegiate Olympic-style tournament.
Dresser, Mike Zadick, Derek St. John and Brent Metcalf will lead a squad that will contain 16 Iowa State wrestlers. This will be the first look that Iowa State fans will get at many of the highly regarded wrestlers who were redshirting a year ago.
The tournament begins June 2 with Greco-Roman action, continues June 3 as Freestyle action picks up and then concludes on June 4. All sessions will be streamed on FloWrestling.org ($).
