IOWA CITY, Iowa – The No. 26 Iowa State women's cross country swept the Hawkeye Invitational to begin the 2017 season. The Cyclones defeated all five competing teams in the head-to-head dual-style of the event.
Individually, all eight ISU runners placed in the top-18, with six in the top-9. The Cyclones were paced by freshman Cailie Logue (13:45). She finished first individually, followed by a plethora of Iowa State runners. Anne Frisbie (13:51) finished third, Kelly Naumann (13:53) fourth, followed by Evelyne Guay (13:56) in fifth, Amanda Vestri (14:02) seventh and Karly Ackley (14:23) were all top-10 finishers in ninth.
Iowa State's Megan Schott (15th, 14:34) and Abby Caldwell (18th 14:38) rounded out the Cardinal and Gold lineup in Iowa City, respectively.
The women will be back in action on Sept. 23 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
