Va. - The Iowa State women's basketball team (7-7 1-12 Big 12) continues its Big 12 road swing, when it takes on No. 12 West Virginia (13-2, 1-2 Big 12) on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. in Morgantown, West Virginia. Iowa State is 4-7 all-time against the Mountaineers, but swept WVU last season in Big 12 action. The Mountaineers went on to win the Big 12 Tournament title, but ISU topped WVU 80-55 in Morgantown and 68-53 in Ames. Iowa State is 2-3 all-time at WVU.

- Carleton has 1,052 career points, ranking 29th all-time in ISU history and 12 away from passing Vanessa Ward (1,063). Carleton eclipsed 1,000 career points in ISU's game vs. Kansas. She currently ranks seventh in school history in career scoring average, with 14.6 points per game, passing all-time great Megan Taylor (14.1), who sits in eighth.
- Iowa State ranks first in the Big 12 and is in the top seven percent in the nation in 3-pointers per game (9.1). - The 2016-17 season marks the 23rd in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 17 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is tied with Oklahoma as the most of any Big 12 team since 1997. Fennelly boasts a 472-243 record at Iowa State and a 638-296 record in his 28-year career as a head coach. His 638 career wins lists him in the top-30 in the NCAA among active coaches.
