Sievers Named Big 12 SAAC Vice-Chair

Iowa State gymnast Meaghan Sievers has been named the Big 12 Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Vice-Chair the league announced on Thursday.
Two student-athletes from each school are appointed to represent their universities on the Big 12 SAAC. Sievers was selected by her Big 12 SAAC counterparts to assume the role of Vice-Chair effective immediately.
Big 12 Conference SAAC is the avenue for engaging student-athletes on their respective team, fellow student-athletes, and athletics administrators at the campus, conference, and national level. Big 12 SAAC provides feedback on Council and Autonomy legislative items, empowers others to utilize their platform in sport to create social change and maximize their student-athlete experience.
Sievers has been a staple of the gymnastics program during her tenure at Iowa State. During her junior season, she posted a new career-high 9.925 on vault which earned her a spot in the NCAA Championships for the second time in her career. Sievers also been able to maintain an astounding academic record being a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team member and making the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester at Iowa State.
