The Iowa State Classic will once again be one of the premier indoor college track and field meets of the season. The men's distance races are absolutely loaded, with 18 of the top 25 finishers from the 2017 NCAA Cross Country Championships entered in either Friday night's 3,000 or 5,000-meter run. Among that group is Iowa State's Andrew Jordan, who is entered in both events. Jordan, who already has a sub-8 3,000 to his name this indoor season will be looking to add to his collection and reputation this weekend.
On the women's side, the No. 21 Cyclones will once again welcome an elite 800-meter run field to Ames. Jasmine Staebler's season has gotten off to an outstanding start, with her already having attained a 2:03.59 in the half-mile this season. She and her Cyclone teammates will be tested by a big-time field that includes Big 12 foes Kaylee Dodd of Oklahoma State and Aaliyah Miller of Baylor.
