Cyclones to Host Hawkeyes in Cy-Hawk Series Showdown

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team (8-4, 0-0 Big 12) will host the University of Iowa Hawkeyes in an Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series showdown at the LifeTime Fitness in Urbandale on March 7 at 4 p.m.
Cyclones vs. Hawkeyes
Iowa State will look to strengthen its record of 8-4 versus its rival, the Iowa Hawkeyes, who currently hold a record of 7-3 for their spring season. The Cyclones have only captured 7 wins in its 46-match history with Iowa. Last season, the teams met in Iowa City, where ISU fell 4-0.
The Last Serve
Last weekend, Iowa State traveled to Florida, where they took on the North Florida Ospreys and the Mercer Bears. While the Cyclones fell to the Ospreys, 5-1, they secured an important road win, defeating the Bears, 4-1. Junior Annabella Bonadonna found victories in both of the matches, playing at the No. 6 singles position. Meanwhile, in doubles action, duo Ekaterina Repina and Margarita Timakova went 2-0 for the weekend, defeating foes from both teams at the No. 3 position.
