Traffic Changes For Public Parking Off South 16th Street

AMES, Iowa – The inbound flow of traffic along South 16^th Street for Iowa State football games will be slightly altered this fall to improve efficiency, reduce delays and assist with pedestrian and vehicle safety.

Based upon consultation with law enforcement and public safety, the athletics department events staff is going to give right-of-way to all traffic making right turns as vehicles access parking lots G2, G3, G4, G5, G8 and Lot 93 Vet Med (see map).

Left-hand turns into these lots will be discouraged – and will be prohibited during the busiest times – at the discretion of the parking staff.

Fans planning to park in lots G2, G3, G8 and Vet Med should arrive at the stadium grounds using the University Boulevard exit (off Highway 30) and proceed eastbound towards South 16^th Street (where they can turn right and then access the lots).

Vehicles needing to access lots G4 and G5 should exit Duff Avenue onto westbound South 16^th Street and then turn right into those lots.

If fans are planning to turn left into one of these parking lots from South 16^th Street, they will likely be re-routed.
