AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football fans have answered the bell.
The Athletics Department announced Friday that its first two home football games at MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium are sold out (UNI, Aug. 31; Iowa, Sept. 14).
Iowa State sold out its first two home games in 2015 and 2017 and it will be the sixth and seventh game in school history with a school-record 61,500 fans in attendance.
ISU increased its capacity at Jack Trice Stadium to 61,500 in 2015, making it the third-largest venue in the Big 12 Conference.
Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard announced earlier this month the school exceeded 45,000 season tickets sold for the first time in school history.
That total is now 46,197.
"Our fans are amazing," Pollard said. "We challenged Cyclone Nation to see if we could get to 45,000 season tickets sold and we eclipsed that number and more. It's another example of why Iowa State is so special."
Single game tickets are still available for the remaining home games beginning with Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 21.
