- Joens also has a knack for getting to the free-throw line. She ranks first nationally in free throws made (103), and second-nationally in free throws attempted (122). Her 85.0 percent at the charity stripe also ranks 42nd nationally and fourth in the Big 12. As a team, Iowa State ranks ninth nationally with 256 free throws made.
- Junior Kristin Scott picked up right where she left off last season, earning a spot on the Preseason All-Big 12 team. Scott is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.1 points, despite playing limited minutes earlier this season. Scott is also second in rebounding, averaging 7.5 boards per game. Scott has notched 23 and 24 points respectively in the first two Big 12 games.
- Joens and Scott each found themselves on a pair of preseason watch lists, with Joens being named to the Cheryl Miller Award Watch List, which honors the nation's top small forward. Scott on the other hand, was named to the Lisa Leslie Watch List, which honors the country's best center. Scott is the first Cyclone to be named to the Lisa Leslie Watch List. Scott is also on the Citizen Naismith Trophy Watch List, which honors the nation's top player.
- Junior Rae Johnson is tied for third in the Big 12 in assists per game, averaging 4.8. Johnson has dished five or more assists in seven games this season.
- Iowa State currently ranks 32nd nationally in blocked shots per game (4.8 BPG). Scott leads ISU, averaging 2.0 blocks per game on the year, while Ines Nezerwa is averaging 1.1 per game.
- The 2019-20 season marks the 25th in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances. TCU would take the lead and not relinquish it, giving TCU its 12th win of the season.
- The Cyclones placed three in double figures with Ashley Joens leading the way with game-highs in points (31) and rebounds (15). Kristin Scott tallied a double-double of her own with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
