WACO, Texas -The Iowa State women's basketball team (12-6, 4-3, Big 12) heads to Waco, Texas to take on No. 2 Baylor (17-1, 6-0 Big 12) on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. on FS1. The Cyclones are looking for their fourth-straight win and the first win in the Ferrell Center since 1997. Iowa State is 1-15 against Baylor in Waco and 7-29 all-time against the Lady Bears.

Iowa State ranks second in the nation in free-throw percentage netting 80.2 percent at the charity stripe. Iowa State netted a perfect 10-of-10 from the line against Kansas State and an impressive 25-of-26 against Wright State. Iowa State led the nation in 2012-13 (80.5%) and 2013-14 (80.4%) in free-throw percentage. Iowa State ranks 10th nationally in free-throws made (278).
Sophomore Ashley Joens, is off to a historic start to her sophomore season, and is currently averaging a double-double with 22.4 points and 10.6 rebounds and has claimed a league-high three Big 12 weekly honors. Joens also ranks sixth in the league in field-goal percentage, 48.5 percent. She has the highest field-goal percentage of any Big 12 guard.
Joens is currently first in the Big 12 in scoring and fourth in the nation, averaging 22.4 points per game, while her 10.6 rebounds ranks fourth in the Big 12 and 16th nationally. Joens remains the only player in the NCAA averaging over 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds . Joens is also the only player in the Big 12 ranking in the top-5 in points and rebounds for the season.
Joens also has a knack for getting to the free-throw line, as she leads the nation with 140 fouls drawn. As a result, she ranks first nationally in free throws made (124), and second-nationally in free throws attempted (145). Her 85.5 percent at the charity stripe also ranks 29th nationally and fourth in the Big 12. As a team, Iowa State ranks 20th nationally with 287 free throws made.
Junior Kristin Scott picked up right where she left off last season, earning a spot on the Preseason All-Big 12 team. Scott is currently second on the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points. Scott is also second in rebounding, averaging 7.2 boards per game. Scott has kicked things up a notch since the start of Big 12 play averaging 16.3 points and shot 53.5 percent from the field in the first six games of Big 12 action.
Junior Rae Johnson is averaging 4.9 assists per game in Big 12 play, which ranks second in the league. She leads the Cyclones with 89 assists on the year.
Since 1999-00, only seven Division I guards or guard/forwards have averaged over 20.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and shot 48.5 percent from the floor. Joens is currently on pace to do so. She joins Delaware's Elena Delle Donne and former Big 12 Player of the Year Brittney Martin as two of the women's basketball players on the list.
The 2019-20 season marks the 25th in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 18 NCAA Tournament appearances. Fennelly boasts a 517-268 record at Iowa State and a 683-321 record in his 32-year career as a head coach. His 683 career wins lists him in the top-15 in the NCAA among active coaches in Division I and in the top-50 winningest coaches all-time.

The Iowa State women's basketball team picked up its third-straight win with an 89-67 victory over Kansas. Saturday's win was the 10th-straight against the Jayhawks. The Cyclones shot 57.9 percent from the field and knocked down 14 triples in the contest.
The Cyclones placed five in double figures with Maggie Espenmiller-Mcgraw leading the way with a career-high 20 points. Espenmiller-McGraw knocked down six triple, setting a career-high. Kristin Scott tallied 19 points, while Adriana Camber and Ashley Joens tallied 13 points each. Jade Thurmon added 10 points to round out the Cyclones in double figures.
